Problems with pheasants & peacocks
Pheasants and peacocks are not native to the United States. They are commonly kept as pets. Ring-necked pheasants were introduced to California for hunting.

Peacock in backyard

It is an escaped pet. Place flyers in your neighborhood or an ad in the paper. If you can contain it in an enclosed area, call Animal Services. Do not feed peacocks-if you do, they will not leave.

Pheasant in backyard

They are feeding on insects, small vertebrates, seed, grain and fruit. They roost in trees or on the ground. To discourage pheasants, make sure there is little food available.
